Questions about these tools
Yes. The field soil assessment, the calibration calculators, the trackers and the compost builder are free and need no account. The SAP Analysis Engine is the exception: it is provisioned for clients, because it reads laboratory results against crop and growth-stage norms rather than simply doing a calculation.
The Field Soil Assessment. It scores nine indicators you can see and measure in the orchard, takes 30 to 45 minutes a block, and flags the problems that override everything else — compaction, bare earth, poor infiltration. There is little point optimising a spray programme while one of those is shutting uptake down.
It varies. The Brix Tracker needs a refractometer, and EC and pH readings need meters. The calibration calculators need a bucket, a measuring jug and a stopwatch. The field assessment needs a spade. The Compost Builder and the Plant Growth Tracker need nothing beyond a tape measure and the measurements themselves.
That is what they are built for. The trackers record GPS location and weather alongside each reading, and the calibration calculators are meant to be run in the field with a bucket and a stopwatch rather than reconstructed at a desk afterwards.
